Your post has not been deleted - do not re-submit it. If you have met these requirements, you can ignore this comment. If this is your first time creating a virtual machine, we have a guide on our wiki that covers the important steps. Please also check our FAQ and if you find your question is answered there, PLEASE remove your post or at least change the flair to Solved. Please check Google and the VirtualBox Manual before asking simple questions. PLUS a detailed description of the problem, what research you have done, and the steps you have taken to fix it. Whether you have installed Guest Additions and/or Host Extensions (this solves 90% of the problems we see) Whether you have enabled VT-x/AMD-V (applicable to all hosts running 6.1 and above) and disabled HyperV (applicable to Windows 10 Hosts) This is just a friendly reminder in case you missed it. Only difference was I was able to select, "Linux - Other Linux (64bit)" instead of "Other Linux (32bit)" on the computer I am currently TeamViewered in on (can't access BIOS to enable hardware virtualisation)ĭesperate for some help or advice as this is for work and I am new, and trying to prove myself haha. I have tried changing to all the different graphics controllers available, enabling 3D acceleration, and even tried installing Android x86 6.0 which doesn't work either.įWIW, I successfully installed this on my own, personal computer.

Here is a post I found with someone with a similar problem, but none of the solutions on their post work.

I can boot into the main screen and select advanced options, but when I choose the, "auto install to specified harddisk" option, the screen goes black and all I can see is a flashing underscore in the top left corner, like this.īTW, this happens if I try to boot Android to any degree, not just using the auto installer. I am not sure if I have Guest Additions/Host Extensions installed, but fairly sure I don't. I have allocated 4gb of RAM, 128mb video memory, VBoxSVGA, KVM paravirtualisation, hardware virtualisation all disabled/VT-x/AMD-V disabled, hardware clock in UTC time disabled. The host OS is Windows Server 2016 Datacenter. I am using the 32bit version of Android x86 9.0-r2.

I am using VB 6.0.24 as the latest version of VB doesn't allow me to disable hardware virtualisation, which is required since I don't have access to the BIOS on this computer to enable it.
